HIDE PLATE CHISTMAS ORDERING
31st October 2021
CHRISTMAS 2021 ORDERING
STOCK LEVELS:- LOW STOCK
The Hide Plates, Hide Plate Kits and accessories make superb Christmas gifts, they are very popular at this time of the year and demand for them is high.
You will have undoubtedly seen the reports of shortages in materials, labour and supply chain issues for many sectors of industry in the UK at the moment and, at times, these pressures have impacted to some degree on the manufacturing of my products. All items have been selling well and I now have low stock levels - there won't be any more Plates manufactured before Christmas now so I cannot guarantee that as it gets closer to Christmas I will have all items available so it would probably best to order soon to avoid disappointment.
The last guaranteed posting date for any goods to arrive in time for Christmas is Tuesday 21st of December and to place an order or for any enquiries please contact me here.

CORONAVIRUS: FURTHER UPDATE REGARDING LITTLE OWL HIDE BOOKINGS:
11th May 2020
11th May 2020
Hi All,
Apologies for not updating this page earlier.
Recently I have been receiving a high number of enquiries regarding the hide from both customers already booked into the hide for this Spring and Summer, plus also a high number of photographers looking to book the hide so I have decided to add this update for your information.
This is a very difficult update to write but in view of the current situation with this wretched virus and the ongoing fight to stop it, it is going to be pretty impossible for me to operate my hide for customers safely this year, and even with the latest, slight but vague and confusing easing of the lockdown measures announced by the Prime Minister on the 10th May, sadly and regrettably I have to inform you that I have made the very tough decision to close the hide.
I have not taken this decision lightly, in fact it breaks my heart to have to do so, but due to public health and safety reasons, plus major problems with meeting social distancing requirements in the hide it will be too risky to allow photographers to visit the hide for the foreseeable future.
Essentially, the hide is way too small to meet the minimum recommended two meters distancing measures when two photographers are in the hide and with two photographers booked into the hide on almost every day during May and June, and the fact that a large majority of those photographers are complete strangers it is clear that it could be potentially dangerous to public health. Also, the hide is very basic and there are no facilities for proper, thorough hand washing in the hide and although I can provide hand sanitiser and gloves etc it is far from ideal.
In addition to that, as a customer or potential customer planning to visit my hide your health and safety, along with the welfare of the owls are my top priorities as is my own health and safety and unfortunately, but very importantly, I am a moderate asthma sufferer, so as I am sure you can appreciate I have to be extremely careful with what I do at the moment and it would be very foolish to put myself or my customers at any unnecessary risk with a virus as lethal as the Coronavirus and the COVID-19 disease it brings especially as there there seems to be an awful lot of virus still circulating out there and are, among others, the main reasons for closing the hide.
I am so sorry that I have no better news in this update and I can't tell you how disappointed and upset I am to be closing the hide but I sincerely hope that due to the circumstances you can see that it is the sensible thing to do. Health and safety must always come first and certainly before any profit or any photo.
Stay healthy and Stay safe!
Kindest regards
Neil

CORONAVIRUS: UPDATE REGARDING LITTLE OWL HIDE BOOKINGS:
13th March 2020
13th March 2020
Hi All,
After the statements issued by the Prime Minister, Chief Medical Officer and the Chief Scientific Adviser on Thursday the 12th of March regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak I feel it only right to add my own informative statement to those of you who have either booked a photography session in the Little Owl Hide for this Spring and Summer or for anyone interested in booking.
As you will now know the UK Government's response to the ongoing fight against the Coronavirus outbreak has moved from the containment stage to the delay stage, and the days, weeks and months ahead are very uncertain and highly likely to be pretty tough for all of us especially with the predicted peak of the outbreak to be some time around May.
If this prediction is correct it will unfortunately coincide with the Little Owl's breeding season - their most active period, and my busiest time of the year, with bookings almost every day through May and June. So I have no doubt that this will potentially have some impact on my customers, myself and my ability to run the hide normally, so I wanted to issue some information and advice, as I see it, to any customer who has already booked or is considering booking.
Firstly and most importantly, along with the welfare of the birds, your health and well being is of my utmost priority and you can be assured that the hide will be clean, tidy and sanitised before any customer uses it, the same goes for any equipment provided with it. Unfortunately, due to it's rural location, there are no hand washing facilities but I will provide hand sanitiser and also protective surgical gloves for anyone wishing to use them - put simply, I will do all I can to ensure that the hide will be as safe to use as it can possibly be.
Secondly, at the moment, all hide sessions will go ahead as planned, however this is a rapidly changing situation and as the outbreak progresses and more and more restrictions are announced this advice may/will change, so should there be the need cancel any customers due to visit or I have close the hide completely, I will give as much notice as possible.
If any customer has booked accommodation go with their visit then please make sure you have taken out any available cancellation waiver policies on your hotel booking, this should ensure you don't lose any money on your hotel costs should you or I need to cancel your hide session. Also, it is very important that should you feel unwell leading up to your visit, and think you should cancel then please let me know as soon as possible even if it is at very short notice, it will not be a problem at all and should I myself be affected then I will of course let you know immediately - please do the right thing and do not attend if you have any of the symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Lastly, this is a constant and rapidly changing situation and I will do my best to keep you updated with any developments that apply to my ability to operate the hide on this news page but if you have any concerns or have any questions then please do not hesitate to to get in touch.
Stay healthy and stay safe!
Kindest regards
Neil
